Coffee finca · Coffee hills above Antigua, 25 minutes from town

A working coffee estate on the slopes of Volcán de Agua, with guest rooms in the old hacienda and views across the valley.

About the stay

Finca El Mirasol has grown shade coffee on the volcanic slopes above Antigua for more than a century. Guests stay in the restored hacienda house and a handful of garden cottages, surrounded by coffee rows, macadamia trees and birdsong, with Fuego and Acatenango smoking on the horizon.

Mornings start with a walk through the plantation and a cupping of the estate's own beans; afternoons might bring a horse ride, a cooking class in the farmhouse kitchen or simply a hammock. Antigua's restaurants are a short drive away, but you may not want to leave.
