Boutique colonial hotel · Antigua, three blocks from the Parque Central

A restored 17th-century home with a fountain courtyard, a small pool and rooftop views of Volcán de Agua.

Hotel courtyard with a pool and ornate wooden door

About the stay

Behind a plain ochre facade on a quiet cobbled street, Casa del Lirio opens onto a courtyard of bougainvillea, stone fountains and a small heated pool. The house was once a merchant's residence and has been restored with care, keeping its thick adobe walls, carved wooden beams and original tiled floors.

Rooms are generous and calm, with handwoven textiles from the highlands, fireplaces for cool evenings and deep bathtubs. Breakfast is served in the courtyard, and the rooftop terrace is the place to be when the sun sets behind Agua.
