Jungle lodge · Lake Petén Itzá, near El Remate

Lakeside cabanas where the jungle meets the water, halfway between Flores and Tikal.

Thatched-roof entrance to a jungle lodge

About the stay

On a quiet stretch of shore near the village of El Remate, Itzá Shore Lodge combines jungle and lake. Its wooden cabanas look out over the clear water of Lake Petén Itzá, with a swimming dock just steps away and forest trails leading behind.

It is perfectly placed for exploring the Petén: around 35 minutes to Tikal, an easy drive to Yaxhá, and a short boat or road ride to the island town of Flores. Evenings are for watching the sun drop over the lake with a cold drink in hand.
