Jungle lodge · Petén rainforest, 15 minutes from the Tikal entrance gate

Thatched bungalows deep in the forest, close enough to Tikal for an early start and far enough for total peace.

Lodge lit up at night in the jungle

About the stay

Ceiba Canopy Lodge sits in its own private reserve on the edge of the Maya Biosphere, its palm-thatched bungalows raised on stilts among the trees. Toucans, oropendolas and spider monkeys pass through each day, and at night the forest hums with frogs and insects.

The location makes all the difference at Tikal: you can be at the gate before sunrise, back for a swim in the pool during the midday heat, and out again for the late-afternoon light. The open-air restaurant serves Petén dishes alongside fresh fish from the lake.
