Lakeside lodge · Lake Atitlán, between Santa Cruz and Jaibalito, reached by boat

Stone casitas tumbling down a garden hillside to a private dock, with every room facing the volcanoes.

Pier on Lake Atitlán with boats and volcanoes

About the stay

Reached only by boat, Casa Xocomil sits on a steep, terraced garden on the quiet north shore of Lake Atitlán. Its stone-and-timber casitas are scattered among avocado trees and flowering vines, each with a hammock-strung terrace looking straight across the water to Tolimán, Atitlán and San Pedro volcanoes.

Days begin with yoga on the deck and coffee grown on the hillside, and end with dinner by the fire as lights flicker on around the lake. Kayaks and paddleboards wait on the dock for the calm mornings, and the lodge's lancha can take you to any village on the shore.
